This is one of the few places where you can embark on a canoe safari, along the shoreline of the Momella Lakes, watching hippos (from a distance!), the animals grazing on the shores and birdlife.

Although small, Arusha National Park has great diversity in its landscapes; ranging from the striking Mt Meru, grasslands, alkaline lakes, dense forests and a magnificent crater. The park is a short drive from either Arusha or Moshi town and is a perfect place to start your safari holiday or a day trip.
The park is home to many species of birds, blue monkeys, baboons, colobus monkeys, zebra, warthogs to name a few. Africa’s largest population of giraffes are found in Arusha National Park, so you are sure to meet some of these elegant animals. Larger game are present (elephants, lions) but rarely seen on a day’s safari. The Momella Lakes are home to hippos and a wide variety of birds and in particular pink flamingos.
