1. Prices:
All information and prices quoted, on our website or in brochure and subsequent invoice are correct at time of writing. Changes may occur beyond our control due to a number of factors including a lack of availability, currency fluctuations, government tax/fees, tour content, standards of service, airfares and airline schedules. Taswira Africa Safaris will notify you of any changes prior to you paying a deposit and prior to your final payment. Should a tour price increase after a deposit has been received due to circumstance beyond our control, then any increases up until the date of departure are to be paid by the client. If such increases are unacceptable the client may cancel their booking but are still liable to pay any cancellation charges.
2. Booking:
To confirm any tour, a booking form must be completed and a deposit received. A booking is accepted subject to the receipt of written confirmation from us. A deposit of 30% is required to secure a booking and final payment is due 60 days prior to departure. If a reservation is made within 60 days prior to departure then the full payment must be received prior to confirmation.
3. Amendment/Transfer fee:
Should you wish to amend your booking (including change of date), you should notify us via email and pay a fee of $50 USD plus any change in quote (such as accommodation) plus any cancellation charges that are due.
4. Cancellations and Refunds:
Should you wish to cancel a booking please notify us in writing, via email. Cancellation charges will take effect from the date of receipt of your written cancellation (on the next available working day). All monies will be refunded less incurred costs as follows (unless specified differently on invoice):
More than 60 days prior to departure – Loss of deposit.
Less than 45 days prior to departure - 100% of fare
Between 60-45 days prior to departure – 75% of fare
The non-issuance of an invoice or the non-payment and or/non-receipt of a deposit will not exempt clients from these cancellation charges.
5. Insurance:
We strongly recommend that you are adequately insured for the full duration of your tour. We suggest you purchase insurance at the time you pay your deposit. Taswira Africa Safaris will not accept responsibility for loss of deposit or full payment, loss or damage to baggage and personal items including camera equipment, personal injury and illness, medical expenses and/or cancellation of your trip or flight.
6. Changes to Schedules:
Although every effort is made to adhere to given itineraries, there are some cases where it is necessary to change routes / schedule / accommodation. This may be due to weather patterns, migration or other wildlife occurrences, changes in accommodation etc.
7. Flights:
Taswira Africa Safaris is not a travel agent and cannot directly book flights, but only advise. Therefore, we are not responsible for any changes, events, loss or delays during, before or after any flights (both international and domestic). Please note that we subcontract any domestic flying services to independent charter operations, and they are responsible for those flights.
8. Delays:
We cannot be held liable for any delays or additional costs incurred as a result of airlines not running to schedule.
9. Baggage:
For safety and space restriction, baggage in some domestic aircraft is restricted to a maximum of 15 kg per person in a soft bag. This includes camera equipment and carry-on baggage. However, should clients know in advance that extra space is required, we may be able to book an extra seat for the bags, at an additional cost to the client. For tours without flights, we recommend packing light and restrict to 20kg per client. If you are beginning and ending in a particular hotel, there are often options to leave baggage securely. Please check at the time of booking for your tour conditions.
10. Wild Animals:
Please be aware that our tours may take you into close contact with wild animals. Attacks by wild animals are extremely rare, but no safari into the African wilderness can guarantee that this will not occur. Please listen to the advice given (by your guide or at the accommodation) at all times. Neither Taswira Africa Safaris nor their employees, can be held responsible for any injury or incident on a tour. Please note that most safari camps / lodges are not fenced. Do NOT leave children unattended at any time. Do not feed any wild animals / birds or leave food around.
11. Passport & Visas:
It is your responsibility to ensure that passports and visas are valid for the countries visited. Taswira Africa Safaris and staff cannot be held liable for any visas, etc. not held by the guests, nor the cost of visas.
12. Health:
Please consult your doctor / tropical medicine centre for specific advice and precautions prior to your departure. Please inform Taswira Africa Safaris of any medical condition and allergies.
13. Not Included:
Insurance to cover for cancellation and curtailment, medical, baggage and money, emergency evacuation back home; beverages (other than water) in most accommodation; personal laundry; gratuities to guides, drivers and to staff; any excursion not on the itinerary; optional meals; scheduled airfares; visas and departure taxes.
14. Consumer Claims:
Should you encounter any minor problems on your holiday it is always better to try and solve it with your guide. If this is not possible (or it is a major problem) and you wish to lodge a complaint, please do so in writing (via email) within 14 days of completing your tour.
15. Government Warnings:
It is our recommendation that all travelers thoroughly read the government warnings from their home country, such as the Australian Government Advisory website – www.smarttraveller.gov.au . Taswira Africa Safaris do not accept liability for injury, damage, delay, loss or additional expenses incurred directly or indirectly from any events that may occur subsequent to any government warnings.
16. Responsibility:
Completion of our booking form is an acknowledgement that the clients have read and understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions. Taswira Africa Safaris is not a hotelier or a travel agent (we are a Tour Operator), nor does it own accommodation, or aircraft. All bookings with the company are subject to the terms and conditions limitations of liability imposed by our suppliers. As some suppliers may limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay, loss and damage to baggage, passengers may be required to complete a release of indemnity form prior to commencing their arrangements. All tickets and vouchers are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which our suppliers provide their services. The terms of your contract are those terms and conditions under which the other suppliers provide their service. Taswira Africa Safaris do not accept any liability of whatever nature for the acts, omissions and/or default whether negligent or not of those operators, hotel companies, airlines or other persons providing services in connection with your tour. Taswira Africa Safaris does not accept liability for injury, damage, delay, loss or additional expenses incurred directly or indirectly due to events beyond our physical control including war, civil unrest, natural disasters, unusually severe weather, acts of Government/authorities, accidents or failure of machinery and equipment.
