Ultimate Luxury Safari and Zanizbar - 15 Day Tour

Today we will visit The Umoja Centre, an exciting youth education project supporting vulnerable teens gain vital education and life skills. After a tour of the centre, one of the students will show you their home and community, giving you an insight into life in Arusha.

After lunch your Taswira guide will show you the highlights of Arusha City, including the colourful central market and Tanzanite museum. We will end the tour at the leafy green Arusha Coffee Lodge, where we will visit Shanga, a fascinating project supporting people with disabilities.

We will depart Arusha in the morning and head directly to Tarangire National Park, named after the river that runs through it which quenches the thirst of a variety of animals, including giraffes, waterbucks, wildebeests, zebras and a high density of elephants. Tarangire is home to over 550 species of birds and its hilly landscape is dotted with baobabs and diverse grasses. After a morning game drive, you will enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the river, before continuing wildlife viewing until arriving at the stunning Lemala Mpingo Ridge.

As the sun rises, beaming beautiful golden light, we will do our first game drive of the day. This is a fantastic time to view wildlife and to take memorable photos. We will take a picnic breakfast to have along the way. In the middle of the day we will return to the lodge for lunch and a rest, swim or massage. Later in the day we will explore the park further with another game drive before dinner.

After a breakfast, we will start our journey to the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti National Park, home to the ‘big five’; rhinoceros, elephant, leopard, buffalo and lion, is one of the greatest national parks in the world, spanning over 14,000 km².  The name Serengeti comes from a Maasai word meaning ‘endless plains’.

Although populations fluctuate, there are an estimated 3 million large game animals in the Serengeti, including over 2,500 lions, 1.2 million wildebeest and over 200,000 zebras. You will also have the opportunity to see giraffes, baboons, colobus monkeys, gazelles, antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, waterbuck, hartebeest and more! This vast and varied park is home to more than 500 bird species; including ostriches, vultures, martial eagles, kori bustards, crowned crane and secretary birds.

The Serengeti boasts the largest terrestrial migration in the world, with over 2 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle annually moving in search of greener pastures.

Enjoy a camp lunch before continuing for an afternoon game drive through the vast plains. A trip to the Serengeti at any time of the year can never disappoint!

Beginning the day with an early game drive, you will experience the Serengeti as the sun rises and wildlife awakens in the golden morning light. This is one of the best times for wildlife viewing.  We will return to your camp for a late breakfast and rest, before setting out into the vast Serengeti plains for the rest of the day.

We will enjoy a bush lunch during the day and return to camp early evening.

As the sun rises you too will be rising in a hot air balloon above the plains of the Serengeti. This is a magical experience, where you can marvel at the earth below and watch herds of elephant or zebras with your birds-eye-view. After landing in the bush, you will celebrate such an unforgettable experience with a champagne breakfast.

After breakfast you will be drive back to the Camp for a rest, late afternoon heading off again for the game drive and sunset drinks.

Enjoy the last night at Siringit Serengeti Camp, in ultimate glamping style. Gaze upon the stars with a fine whiskey in hand.

After a short break at the camp, we will enjoy a game drive to the main Serengeti gate and stop for a picnic lunch. Heading towards the Ngorongoro Crater we will pass through varied landscapes and micro-climates – vast plains, sweeping hills and dense forests. We will arrive early evening into the intimate and exclusive Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, perched on the crater rim.

After breakfast we will head directly to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s safari highlights. The name Ngorongoro is from a Maasai word meaning ‘Gift of Life’.

You will begin with taking in the magnificent views from the crater rim before descending into the crater itself. You will have the opportunity to see elephants, lions, buffalo, zebra and many other species of animals and birds. We will enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the hippo pool.

In geological terms, the Ngorongoro Crater is actually a caldera, caused by the collapse of a large volcano 2-3 million years ago. The crater floor covers over 260 km² while the depth is some 610 m.

Ngorongoro Crater is beautiful at any time of year and teaming with wildlife. You may experience clear views of the crater bowl or mists rolling down into the base - either way a memorable experience.

After leaving the park, we will head back to Arusha, arriving early evening.

Today you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to take your flight to Stone Town, Zanzibar, where you will be transferred to the stunning and unique Emerson Spice Hotel in the old part of town. 

The Zanzibar Archipelago is off the mainland of Tanzania and comprised of several small islands and two large ones; Pemba and Unguja (commonly referred to as Zanzibar and in this itinerary). Zanzibar is rich in history; from ancient Persian to the sultans of Oman, the influences are diverse and distinct.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a walking tour of this historic town, a World Heritage site, taking you through narrow streets enjoying the striking architecture. The tour includes the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum, Dr Livingstone’s House and the Arab Fort amongst others. You will see Zanzibar’s bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, cathedrals and mosques.  In the afternoon you will visit Prison Island, which is a small island 5.6km northwest of Stone Town. The island was used as a prison for rebellious slaves in the 1860’s.

After breakfast, we will head to Zuri Zanzibar Hotel passing through villages along the way. We will enjoy several stops including a spice tour of a traditional farm and a visit to the slave caves. After a fresh aromatic lunch in the spice farm we will arrive late afternoon to Zuri Zanzibar Hotel.

Today you have a free day to partake in a variety of activities, such as yoga, kayaking, cycling, boat trips or simply relax by the pool or on the beach. Trust us, you will not want to move from the gorgeous Zuri Hotel.

Today you will enjoy another free day on the beach. Enjoy the tranquillity of Zuri, or adventure onto the waters for a boat trip. If you are feeling really adventurous, you could sail to a nearby island or go diving.
