In Mikumi National Park you can find packs of the African Hunting Dog, which are scarcer and harder to spot in the Northern Circuit.

A smaller, lesser known treat in the Southern Circuit is Mikumi National Park, which together with the Selous Game Reserve, form a unique ecosystem. Spanning over 3230km², the savannah landscape is home to elephants, zebras, kudu, black antelope, baboons and more. More than 400 various species of birds also inhabit the park.
Visiting Mikumi National Park with Taswira Africa Safaris, will no doubt be coupled with a visit to Ruaha national Park or Selous Game Reserve as part of the less visited Southern Circuit.
By far the best place to stay inside Mikumi National Park is Vuma Hills Tented Camp, a perfect ‘glamping’ destination after long days game viewing on your safari holiday.
