Trip overview
Fly in & out River Crossing Serengeti Experiencing Safari. You’ll begin with a flight into the Central Serengeti for a full day of game drives, spotting iconic wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, lions, and leopards. You drive to the Northern Serengeti for two nights, exploring its vast plains and abundant wildlife. You may witness the Great Migration, with opportunities to see predator-prey interactions, huge herds of wildebeest, and breathtaking landscapes.
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Arusha Airport for your flight to the Seronera area of the Central Serengeti. Enjoy this short flight and the view of Tanzania below. Your guide will be waiting at the airstrip to transfer you to the camp for lunch and an afternoon rest.
The Serengeti National Park is one of the greatest and most acclaimed national parks in the world, spanning over 14,000 km² and teeming with extraordinary wildlife. The name Serengeti comes from a Maasai word meaning ‘endless plains’. The Serengeti is synonymous with an African safari, with vast sweeping savannah landscapes, rocky lookouts, and stunning sunsets. It is an important place to visit for many dreaming of an African safari, and for good reason, too.
Later in the afternoon, you will embark on your first game drive into the Serengeti.
Today, you'll set out for the Northern Serengeti with an en route game drive, spotting wildlife and enjoying the park’s changing landscapes.
The Northern Serengeti is known for its vast plains, rolling hills, and remote wilderness. It’s a prime area for the Great Migration and abundant resident wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and more. Less visited than the central region, it offers an exclusive and immersive safari experience.
After breakfast, you'll start your game drive around the Kogatende area in search of the wildebeest migration, heading to the Mara River.
If you are lucky and patient, you may get to witness the dangerous crossing whereby the wildebeest and zebras brave the river’s currents and the crocodiles that lie beneath. This deadly crossing is made by thousands of animals annually as they follow the pastures into the Masai Mara in Kenya.
Early morning in the Northern Serengeti, you will enjoy a final en route game drive as you make your way to Kogatende Airstrip for your onward flight, bringing your unforgettable safari experience to a close.
